Consul Dr. Bernard Otremba-Blanc is Chairman & CEO of the BOA Group, an international business consulting organization. Dr. Otremba-Blanc has a very multicultural background. He has lived and worked in Denmark, England, France, Germany, Iran, the Netherlands, Sri Lanka and the United States. He studied in Germany, France and the United States and holds a Master’s degree in business administration as well as a Ph.D. in economics.


Dr. Bernard Otremba-Blanc has held numerous key-executive positions and has for over a decade managed the U.S. subsidiary of a multinational global market leader in construction technology, as Chairman of the Board & CEO, responsible for all of the Americas.


He served in Military Intelligence of the German Air Force, was deployed to a NATO unit and held the highest NATO security clearance.
Some of Dr. Otremba-Blanc’s main areas of expertise are in corporate match making, Government relations, venture capital, merger & acquisitions, technology transfers, etc; his industry experience ranges from computer graphics to engineering, construction technology, aviation and hospitality. He has earned several prestigious awards, including the Blue-Chip Enterprise Award for innovative marketing from the United States Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C. and the Business Ethics Award among others. He has also received numerous citations from the Governor of Arizona; the Arizona Department of State; the City of Phoenix; German Bundestag; the German Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt); the German State of Baden-Württemberg; the German Free State of Saxony; Lufthansa; the Arizona Department of Commerce; Arizona State University; the City of Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico; Rotary International and many other organizations for his international activities and achievements. He has been listed in several editions of “Who’s Who in America”.

Dr. Otremba-Blanc was a founding member of the Arizona Chapter of the German American Chamber of Commerce and served on the Board of Directors from 1992 to 1999. He has since 1997 served as Director of the Arizona Chapter of the American Council on Germany and served on two Advisory Boards at Arizona State University: the “Honors College Dean’s Council” and the “Director’s Council for the School of Global Studies”. He was a member of the International Leadership Council of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC), Alliance Française, Atlantikbrücke and, is still member of the German American National Congress, Global Ties Arizona (formerly: World Affairs Council), the Arizona Club in Dresden, the Phoenix Committee on Foreign Relations, the Consular Corps of Arizona and the Phoenix Sister Cities Commission. He also is past president of the Glendale Kachina Rotary Club in Glendale, Arizona.


Dr. Otremba-Blanc served as Honorary Judge at the Industrial Court in Frankfurt, Germany for several years and also as a city council member. He is a certified mediator in the Maricopa County, Arizona court system.

In March of 2002, the President of Germany bestowed upon Dr. Otremba-Blanc the Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany (Bundesverdienstkreuz der Bundesrepublik Deutschland), for his endeavors in fostering and sustaining American- German relations.

Dr. Otremba-Blanc has on August 1, 2002 been appointed Honorary Consul of Germany, by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Federal Foreign Minister and was shortly after accredited by the United States Department of State in Washington, DC.

In September 2008, he has been selected by the Phoenix Business Journal as one of this year’s “Power Player” in Arizona, for his “leadership, professionalism, dedication and impact on the Phoenix community”.

Dr. Otremba-Blanc has occasionally lectured at Arizona State University, the University of Arizona, Northern Arizona University, Thunderbird – School of Global Management as well as in Riyadh and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the University of Tehran, Iran and, at the Buddhist University in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

In March 2009, Dr. Otremba-Blanc received the Rotary Presidential Recognition Award.

In January 2012, the President of Germany bestowed upon Dr. Otremba-Blanc the “Officer’s Cross” of the Order of Merit

(Bundesverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse).

On May 22, 2012, he retired as Honorary Consul, after serving Germany for 10 years, and is now “Consul Emeritus”.
